I have been an athlete my entire life. From grade school all the way up until the day I walked across that stage and received my college degree I have been digging to the depths of pushing beyond what I thought I was capable of, staying focused on a goal, and being disciplined. All in all my years in athletics and competing has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my life. I have learned very valuable life lessons through it all. I have learned that there is no such thing as chance.
To go from an “I wish” to making it happen you must not think about the things you can’t do but instead, you need to focus and think about the things you CAN. To remember that NO matter what the level of your ability, you have more potential than you could ever develop in a lifetime. Holding on to the truth that you have powers you never dreamed of and that you can do things you never thought you could do will pave the way to achieving the goals you set for yourself. There are no limitations to what you can do except the limitations of your own mind.
I truly believe all I have achieved in my life is because I lived my life with the firm belief that I CAN have or do anything I want, if I want it bad enough. If I visualize, plan, commit and then do, it WILL happen, NO EXCUSES! This way of believing is one that you can adopt and live by too!
Adopting this belief is just the beginning.
Living it out day by day with NO FINISH LINE in sight is where the true success happens. As I mentioned before, you have more potential than you could ever develop in a lifetime, so use your entire lifetime to try and develop all that you can and the only way to do that is to keep going believing that there is no finish line. Every day is a day to improve, to listen and to work hard. There will be no end in sight. Every day is a gift, and what we do with it is our gratitude and gift given in return.
I have been blessed beyond my desires when it comes to the life I have lead up until this point and I am not just talking about my athletic and fitness career. Because of the attitudes and beliefs I am sharing with you, becoming and staying committed and determined from start to finish on the task at hand, I have achieved success in all genres of my life.
No, I am not arrogant enough to say that I have not been through trials and tribulations that have completely wiped me out, but with those hard times, I have learned more about life and myself than I ever would have in all my winning moments. Life is a test and if you can stay focused, visualize and never cease to strive to reach the goals you set out to achieve, SUCCESS will be YOURS!
Whatever your journey maybe or consist of, sooner or later if you are serious enough, you will go through a special, very personal experience that will be only unique to you. It may be a certain failure, a goal or you just are ready to start living the life you were intended to live. Whatever it may be, that is when you will be overcome by a flash of determination, a sense of purpose and drive. It’s a new kind of mystical experience that propels you into an elevated state of consciousness.
The experience is unique to each of us, but when it happens you break through a barrier that separates you from the casual person. Forever. And from that point on, there is no finish line. You train for life. You begin to be addicted to what working out and training gives you. When you get here then you can then stop saying “I wish” and MAKE IT HAPPEN!
This life is about you and your story.
Only you are capable of writing a story that you can be proud of. Get out of your own way and step up to that starting line and START living out the successful life we all were meant to have. Success will be unique to all of us, but either way or whatever it looks like to you, get going and know that you are on a journey with no finish line.
Beating the competition is relatively easy. But beating yourself is a never ending commitment. There is no finish line, so enjoy the journey!
